Lois, Retired and New Graduate from TSU
What's your Nashville story?
"I'm going to tell you all of it real quick. Nashville is my home, 79 years ago I was born here right at the old General Hospital. I came here to go to a convention three years ago from Oakland and I stayed. Now my daughter is trying to tell me to go back with her. I don't know what I'm going to do."
What is your favorite part of your outfit and why?
(Her Daughter (not pictured): "It's got to be your hat.")
"Oh yes! This hat is special. I got it at a flea market about five years ago. I saw it, I ran over and bought it. Everyone wanted to know where I was going and I just said: "I don't know but I've got to have that hat." The lady gave it to me and she said: "That'll be three dollars." I said; "What?!?" It was brand new and beautiful. I thought it was going to cost me about twenty. Anyway, I started to wearing it (and that was in Oakland), so in Oakland and Nashville I'm known as the hat lady. Everybody speaks about my hat. Little children, old people, everybody. People say: "Oh you wear your crown well." I get all kinds of responses."
